Johnny Weir

Whether witty or wise, controversial or charming, shocking or silly, sweet or sassy, provocative or profound, inspiring or infuriating--or any combination of those--Johnny Weir, the three-time U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian, and World medalist figure skater, almost always says something worth quoting whenever he commentates a skating competition, makes a TV appearance, gives an interview, holds a press conference, writes, tweets, or is caught on video. His quotes needed to be collected and shared; hence this blog.

My entire life came down to those ten minutes that I spent in front of the world in February 2010. Whether alone, in front of a single person, or, like me, millions, everyone experiences an instant when one's essence is brought forth in a single act of bravery. To the universe, you say: this is who I am. In my performance I revealed my guts, my gusto, my heart, everything that I am. I showed my soul. Because of that, it was and will always be the moment of my life.

  1. You did show your soul, and it is a beautiful soul. If your life came down to those 10 minutes then I would say you acheived your life goal. You were, and are, a winner. You are one of the most beautiful people (inside especially) (although you're pretty damn beautiful outside as well!)there is. So happy you have that moment to remember for the rest of your life. God bless you, Johnny
