[Many celebrities mark their success as the moment they could afford extravagant items--did you ever have that moment of buying a $27,000 beaded dress just to keep in the closet because it looked pretty?]
I’m a humble figure skater, so I can’t really buy a dress that’s just to wear in the car. But I had that feeling during the *NSync period, so be with me on this--I went to Neiman Marcus and bought this pair of $380 Dolce & Gabbana patchwork jeans. Not even Dolce & Gabbana, they were D&G. They had all different kinds of denim--distressed, with stars on them, some seersucker. They were ridiculous but I kept them because I know they’ll be back in style one day. That’s the first moment when I felt like I could buy something big.

Blogger's note: Johnny has said that those jeans are his biggest retail regret.

Johnny Weir
Whether witty or wise, controversial or charming, shocking or silly, sweet or sassy, provocative or profound, inspiring or infuriating--or any combination of those--Johnny Weir, the three-time U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian, and World medalist figure skater, almost always says something worth quoting whenever he commentates a skating competition, makes a TV appearance, gives an interview, holds a press conference, writes, tweets, or is caught on video. His quotes needed to be collected and shared; hence this blog.
