Johnny Weir

Whether witty or wise, controversial or charming, shocking or silly, sweet or sassy, provocative or profound, inspiring or infuriating--or any combination of those--Johnny Weir, the three-time U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian, and World medalist figure skater, almost always says something worth quoting whenever he commentates a skating competition, makes a TV appearance, gives an interview, holds a press conference, writes, tweets, or is caught on video. His quotes needed to be collected and shared; hence this blog.

I'm a figure skater, so we've been taught and bred to really not like hockey, because they don't like us.

[Because you take away their ice-time probably.]

Well, it's not so much that, it's just a completely different mindset. You have, these, you know, in some cases, large men, wearing padding from head to toe, just in case they might fall down, and I'm out there in a rhinestone-encrusted onesie, and I'm falling on my ass all day, no pads, just my bones and my skin and the ice, so...

[So what you're saying is you're much tougher than these pansies who play hockey?]

Exactly what I'm saying.
