Johnny Weir

Whether witty or wise, controversial or charming, shocking or silly, sweet or sassy, provocative or profound, inspiring or infuriating--or any combination of those--Johnny Weir, the three-time U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian, and World medalist figure skater, almost always says something worth quoting whenever he commentates a skating competition, makes a TV appearance, gives an interview, holds a press conference, writes, tweets, or is caught on video. His quotes needed to be collected and shared; hence this blog.

I have no respect for Evan Lysacek.

  1. How is that quote quotable? Evan probably has no respect for Johnny Weir but can't dare say so in public. It is quite a double standard. Johnny can say any nasty thing he wants to about Evan, but if Evan dares to share one opinion about Johnny an avanlanche of negative press is launched against him. I am not Evan. I am an Evan fan, so I can say I have no respect for Johnny Weir. Evan has the respect of the entire figure skating community and beyond for the way he conducts himself in an admirable, gentlemanly manner, always polite, never rude or crude. But the exact opposite is true of Weir. So if he wants fame by being "quotable," let him have it because he is going no where in his career.
