Johnny Weir

Whether witty or wise, controversial or charming, shocking or silly, sweet or sassy, provocative or profound, inspiring or infuriating--or any combination of those--Johnny Weir, the three-time U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian, and World medalist figure skater, almost always says something worth quoting whenever he commentates a skating competition, makes a TV appearance, gives an interview, holds a press conference, writes, tweets, or is caught on video. His quotes needed to be collected and shared; hence this blog.

Love myself I do. Not everything, but I love the good as well as the bad. I love my crazy lifestyle, and I love my hard discipline. I love my freedom of speech and the way my eyes get dark when I’m tired. I love that I have learned to trust people with my heart, even if it will get broken. I am proud of everything that I am and will become.

[Swear right now that when you do a book tour, you don't just hit the east and west coast.]

I promise I will MidWest it up.

As Viacheslav Romanov:
This week on Be Good Johnny Weir, Johnny is publishing the book. Johnny sold 6 1/2 books and does not make the best-selling list. You should buy it.

Keep on partying, everyone hook up, and love it.

This is an amazing book party. There are so many people here, so many people I love, so many people I don't know, new faces, new underpants.

We renamed our bus dudes Flips and Lips! I'm exhausted remembering my bus tour. The hours of sitting, and chaffing...

If you happen to see a large bus, with me on its side, don't be alarmed, we come with love.

There's words in it too!

I look jacked on my book cover.

The cover is totally gay. And sparkly and outrageous. And that's what people think of me, but the inside is completely different.

It's very robo-slut.

To Eric Alt:

You know I love a Marie Antoinette moment.

Johnny narrates: Now that my book's finished, I'm doing a photo shoot for my cover.

Dialogue: That's a giant ball of disco.

Johnny narrates: And you know how much mama loves a camera.

As you write a book, you come up with all these different situations that you've been in and what you thought, felt, and smelt at that time. And it was a beautiful experience. Even if you're not going to get published, I would tell anyone to write a memoir.

As Viacheslav Romanov:
This week on Be Good Johnny Weir, Johnny decided he's gonna write a book and he's come out of the cupboard. Wow! I never knew.

[Simon and Schuster representative: Were you ever in the closet?]

No, I was never ever in one.
